Albany Common Council Appointee
Milton M. Arroyo was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, and raised in The Bronx, NY. Mr. Arroyo earned his BS in Criminology/Criminal Justice from Arizona State University in May 2023 with a scholarship from Uber. Mr. Arroyo is pursuing his MS in Forensic Psychology from Arizona State University and expects to graduate in December 2024.
Mr. Arroyo is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he served from 1985 to 1989. He worked in law enforcement for over two decades, including serving in the New York State Police from 1992 to 2013 and spending two years with The Pasco County, Florida, Sheriff’s Department.
These experiences help Mr. Arroyo bring an understanding of the legal system and criminal investigation to the Community Police Review Board. He brings a passion for engaging with the community, learning from the diverse perspectives around him, and working to maintain a safe environment for all.
In addition to his involvement with the CPRB, Mr. Arroyo continues to drive for Uber, a venture to which he has dedicated nine years, completing over 15,000 rides. Mr. Arroyo also recently took on a new role as a substitute teacher for the City of Albany.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Arroyo finds great joy in pursuing various hobbies, including training his dog, Rupert, a Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier, in Scent/Nose Work, Barn Hunt, and Agility.
